Annual Girls Trip

Each year friends from college get together in a city where either most or none of us have been and spend a few days catching up and exploring the town. This year we chose Austin, Texas. What a beautiful city with varying things to do.
From L to R: Beth, Leslie, Dana, me, Michelle, Allison and Angie at Zilker Botanical Gardens. Walk of Friends path.
  • This place was amazing. Oasis Restaurant on Lake Travis. The lake was surrounded by steep cliffs.

We got to see the Senate Chambers in the capitol.

This was at the top of the rotunda....way way up high.

    See how high?

The largest urban bat colony in the world with 1.5 million bats leaving at sunset to go feed. I read that by dawn when they come back, they'll have eaten 10-30 thousand pounds of insects. I did not want to go, but my friend Michael who used to live in Austin told me it was a must. I have to admit, it was a really neat sight. It looked like God had sprinkled pepper in the sky.

We rented a house so we were able to cook and we made breakfast every morning. I made this yummy avocado, tomato, spinach & pepperjack cheese omelet. I'm a breakfast nut.

Allison and Angie surprised all of us with personalized coozies and a c.d. mix. Thanks girls!

DREAM YARD

The pics are in backwards order. The first pic should be the last & the last should be the first. What started as an exagerrated joke became a fulfilled wish. For the longest time, I would pass by a yard in our community that I really liked and kept telling Chad how we should copy it b/c our front entrance looked horrible. So much time passed and neither of us did anything to make this come to fruition. Since I know him so well and really did want to do something with our front yard, one day as we were driving pass that house I simply said "AHH that's my dream yard!!!" To which he responded with a weird look and said "it doesn't take much to make you happy does it?" It became a joke every time we passed it as my "dream yard" and in not too long.....this was my gift for our 5 month-versary.

NOW PLEASE READ FROM THE LAST PICTURE UP

Voila! And just like that my dream yard from my dream husband. ;-) Love you love
Oh it actually looks a tad better w/ the mulch we filled in aferwards around the plants.
Blood, sweat and more rocks

16 bags of rocks loaded in the back of Chad's truck

Stay Tuned

I can't believe it's been over 2 months since my last post. Well actually I can believe it. There's so much that's happened that I could not or would not want to get into any details, but now it's getting better so I'll bet better at updating this.

Having said that, I have some pics I want to post, but don't have the time right now so please stay tuned and I'll be back. I know I'm ready for Spring!!
