Who will win?

This Sunday, yet another NFL team will win the Vince Lombardi trophy. This will be our 4th year hosting a Super Bowl Party and usually we have a clear favored team to win, but it may be a little more difficult this year. Although neither of the teams are our first choice, we would normally go for the Steelers, but since the Cardinals are and have been the underdog this may prove a little more of a challenge. Here's why:

No doubt this team has heart and power. The Steelers have been a favorite of mine (Ria) since the Bus played with them. Silly reason to like a team, but he really brought a lot of character to them. Not to mention other players such as Hines Ward (his expressions of joy), Troy Polamalu (the hard hits he puts on opponents) and Roethlisberger (his resiliency) make watching the Steelers entertaining and exciting.

The Cardinals have come a long way to prove that they deserve to be in this game. Two reasons for them to win is 1. Kurt Warner and 2. Constant underdogs. The personal & professional life of Kurt is one of worth looking up. You'll find that his story is of triumph over tribulations which makes him an exceptional guy. Also, the Cardinals have never made it to the Super Bowl and weren't even expected to win in the playoffs.
In conclusion, may the best team win!!! Well, the best team of this game anyway b/c we know (not Chad's opinion) the Dallas Cowboys really should be here. ;-) I had to put a plug in for them.

Quarterversary

For those who have followed our blog, you know we're celebrating each month we've been married for the first year. Jan. 18th was our first "quarter" being married. ;-) For this month, we decided to use one of our Christmas gifts from Pam (she gets us this every year b/c she knows it's our favorite) ......brunch at the Top of the Bridge Hotel. It's an assortment of breakfast & lunch with made to order omelets, pasta, seafood, carving station & an abundance of sides. Oh I failed to mention all the mimosa's one could drink. Chad, 7 or so and Ria 5...or so. This is the view from our table. Thank you, Mama Pam!!

Epiphany

I met with my friend, Beth, over the weekend to help her shop for wedding dresses. After trying on several dresses, we had lunch and were talking about everything & just catching up. She asked me what takes up so much of my time b/c it seems like I always have something going on. I continued telling her about all the things that have taken up our time and for some reason, she still didn't understand why I have very little time to do much more than work during the week. While talking in circles and having her question many of the points I was trying to make, IT DAWNED ON ME..... Our eating habit is what keeps me from doing anything more than just working during the week. I came to this conclusion after I shared w/ her that Chad and I practically go to the grocery store EACH time we make dinner. By the time we go to the grocery, prepare dinner, eat and cleanup it's time for bed. So it takes about 4 hours each night during the week for us to do what takes normal people 1 hour (if that?). A good hour of that, if not more, is spent on me grazing my meal. Unfortunately (maybe fortunately) Chad has picked up this habit from me. ;-) She thought that was crazy & wondered why we don't just go shopping on Sunday for the entire week. I think I have a New Year's resolution now!!

Human Postage

Ever wonder what it would look like if you tried mailing yourself? I would picture this. Actually, Chad is the one who said I looked like postage. I went to the Allergist yesterday to get "patch" testing done & this is the end result. I can't tell you how many allergy tests I've had done ever since moving down to South Florida and haven't yet found an allergy, but never one like this. I get seasonal outbreaks of hives and more recently some kind of eczema appear so I decided to give another go. This tests common chemicals used in everyday products as opposed to all my other tests that tested environmental allergens. The thing is, I have to keep this taped to my back for 48 hours. I'll post results after Thursday when I get it off. I also have other posting from our Christmases with family so stay tuned.
