Goliath, the ever resourceful.

Chad here. Ria allowed me access into "our" blog so I figured I'd share a Goliath story from this morning. He never ceases to amaze. As I was cleaning his litter box, he walked into the room and became suddenly interested in the container of Fresh Step kitty litter that was sitting with the top off. He hopped his front paws onto the rim of the container and reached a paw into the box to confirm if this was indeed "litter" as he suspected. After a few digs in the sand with the front paws it was confirmed in his head that, though about a foot higher and significantly less floor space than his present litter box, this was indeed a viable potty. He literally began to climb the rest of his body into the open litter container to do his business, since his box was closed for cleaning. I pulled him out before he could begin the unloading process, but have no doubt the he would have been more than happy to soil the fresh litter right there in the container. Next time I clean the box I am going to see if I can get him to do it again, but will have a camera on hand to capture the event.

Christmas tree

I'm late in posting this, but we picked out our first tree as a married couple a few weeks ago. It's not a white Christmas, but we had fun.

4-4-4 Tag

I was tagged by my cousin Jen who gave me these instructions: Go to your computer where you have all your photos. Go to your fourth folder, then go to your fouth photo and explain that photo. NO CHEATING! Last, tag 4 people and have them do it.

I tag April, Beth, Jane & Kristy.

I actually could not explain this picture because I wasn't there. I got this from my mom's camera when I was home last b/c she did not know how to upload them on her computer. From left to right is my niece Raylin, Nyla, Willow (cousin's daughter) and Raquel with my Uncle Jim in the back. I would have to assume that it was someome's birthday...maybe Nyla? and my uncle must have had his piece of cake already b/c he sure looks happy. Willow must have had a huge chunk of icing b/c of her smirk. Raylin is probably thinking...I hope I get a piece of cake after this picture.

Invitation

I received this e-mail today and it really made me stop to think that we truly do need to accept this invitation:

As you well know, we are getting closer to my birthday. Every year there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that my birthday is getting closer and closer.
It is really very nice to know, that at least once a year, some people think of me. As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago. At first people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them, but in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration.
Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration. I remember that last year there was a great feast in my honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite and there were many, many beautifully wrapped gifts. But, do you want to know something? I wasn't invited. I was the guest of honor and they didn't remember to send me an invitation. The party was for me, but when that great day came, I was left outside, they closed the door in my face......... and I wanted to be with them and share their table.
In truth, that didn't surprise me because in the last few years all close their doors to me. Since I was not invited, I decided to enter the party without making any noise. I went in and stood in a corner. They were all drinking; there were some who were drunk and telling jokes and laughing at everything. They were having a great time. To top it all, this big fat man all dressed in red wearing a long white beard entered the room yelling Ho-Ho-Ho! He seemed drunk. He sat on the sofa and all the children ran to him, saying: "Santa Claus, Santa Claus"... as if the party were in his honor! At 12 midnight all the people began to hug each other; I extended my arms waiting for someone to hug me and.... do you know...no one hugged me.
Suddenly they all began to share gifts. They opened them one by one with great expectation. When all had been opened, I looked to see if, maybe, there was one for me. How would you feel if on your birthday everybody shared gifts and you did not get one? I then understood that I was unwanted at that party and quietly left. Every year it gets worse. People only remember to eat and drink, the gifts, the parties and nobody remembers me. I would like this Christmas that you allow me to enter into your life.
I would like that you recognize the fact that almost two thousand years ago I came to this world to give my life for you, on the cross, to save you. Today, I only want that you believe this with all you heart. I want to share something with you. As many didn't invite me to their party, I will have my own celebration, a grandiose party that no one has ever imagined, a spectacular party. I'm still making the final arrangements.
Today I am sending out many invitations and there is an invitation for you. I want to know if you wish to attend and I will make a reservation for you and write your name with golden letters in my great guest book. Only those on the guest list will be invited to the party. Those who don't answer the invitation will be left outside. Do you know how you can answer this invitation? It is by extending it to others whom you care for... I'll be waiting for all of you to attend my party this year...
See you soon.... I love you!

Holly Jolly

He wanted his dad as that calmed him down.

You would be fooled with this picture...could he indeed enjoy this?

Nope, wrong! He's trying to take it off. Poor guy. Is this considered abuse?

Well he didn't mind the jingle bell collar. Oh so cute.

Weekend

The first weekend back on the boat since the new motor was so nice after having been without it for about 3 months. We went out early in the morning with our fishing buddies, Cliff & Denise on Saturday and could have gotten a few fish, but ended up with only 1 king fish. We lost 2 others. ;-( Oh well, it was a beautiful day nonetheless and the motor ran smoothly. It was super quiet and extra fast. On Sunday, it was only the two of us going out looking for sailfish, but no luck. We only went out for a couple hours as we just wanted to be out on the water again.
Meet Suzuki-san.

Radio check...loud and clear Captain

Our dream house....Unbelieveable house that spans about 200 yards.

Even though we are far from having this house, we are incredibly thankful for being back on the boat. Hope our readers don't get bored with boat stories.

The boat is in labor

Well our baby went into labor today to get a brand new 300hp motor. Most of you know that the boat has been out of commission for several months and it has been torture for Chad. No more crying at night b/c today it went into labor and we'll get it back this Friday so back on the water. Hopefully, we'll be able to post more interesting pictures once we get it back into the water. BTW, the picture should be rotated, but I still don't know how to do that so if anyone knows how to, please call me to walk me through it. ;-)

3 turkeys + 6 people = 9lbs of weight gain

The smoked turkey didn't photograph well, but it was delicious as was the baked & fried ones. Yeah, that's right 3 turkeys for only 6 people...well 5 adults & Nyla.

Hats off to the chef. He made all 3 turkeys along with all the sides which amounted to 6 different dishes. Yummy!!!

Each turkey brought down 1 chicken: Ria, Nyla & Rayana. Great nap. I'm so thankful for all the blessings given to us.....and I pray for those who have very little to be thankful for.
